Anantara Introduces New Experiences from Koh Samui to Chiang Rai

Anantara Hotels and Resorts are welcoming guests back to Thailand with a range of new experiences in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Koh Samui after almost 20 months of border closures.  Thailand reopened its borders to fully vaccinated visitors from a list of countries including the UK from 1 November.

New Family Jungle Bubble in the Golden Triangle

The transparent Jungle Bubbles at Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort in Northern Thailand that offer the opportunity to spend the night observing rescued elephants roaming in their natural habitat, are getting an exciting new addition this November: a double bubble ideal for families or a group of friends. The new double bubble, perched on a wooden deck above the forest, sleeps up to eight people and is fully air-conditioned, offering two bedrooms with four-poster beds, each with a private en-suite shower, a living room, and a spacious outdoor deck with a plunge pool and dining area.

New Luxury River Cruise

Loy River Song, which launched during lockdown, is Thailand’s newest ultra-private luxury river cruiser on the Chao Phraya River, charting a route from modern day Bangkok to Siam’s ancient capital of Ayutthaya. The new luxury boat, which sleeps up to eight people, offers a collection of itineraries ranging from two days/one night to four days/three nights exploring the country, villages and towns along the Chao Phraya River.

The boat’s style evokes Thailand in the 1920s with traditional regional craftsmanship, Thai silk, intricately woven textiles in jewel tones and objets d’arts narrating the story of the Chao Phraya communities and their nautical heritage.  There is a large deck area for wellness and cultural activities such as sunrise yoga, traditional dance performances or Muay Thai lessons. 24-hour butler services, chefs and resident tour guide are on hand to keep things running smoothly.

The cruise can be taken exclusively for up to eight people or by cabin.  https://www.loypelavoyages.com/

New Beach Bar in Koh Samui

Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort has opened a stylish new beach bar.  A.Shore puts a modern spin on the traditional island beach shack, with its whitewashed deck and rustic furnishings including the hull of a once-hardworking fishing boat transformed into a comfy private booth.

Matching the décor, the menu is stylish yet informal, featuring simple Mediterranean food with Asian influences. Guests can relax on loungers around the pool, sink into a beanbag or perch on a swing at the bar, cocktail in hand to a soundtrack of upbeat tunes.

New Styling Session with one of Thailand’s Top Fashion Designers

Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel has introduced a new weekend experience with Thailand’s top fashion designer and director at Bangkok’s Tube Gallery, Saksit Pisalasupongs.  Guests can top up on styling tips over afternoon tea with the cool young designer and armed with insider knowledge, hit the flagship stores from the world’s most prestigious fashion houses at Siam Paragon with their own personal shopper.  After a busy afternoon shopping, guests complete the day with a relaxing spa treatment in the Anantara Spa.

New Cannabis Infused Menu in Chiang Mai

Anantara Chiang Mai’s spy themed The Service 1921 Restaurant and Bar resort has launched the brand’s first cannabis infused menu. The new healthy and nutrition-rich menu includes: deep fried seabass with crispy cannabis leaves and a cannabis tamarind sauce; spicy grilled prawns with traditional Thai herbs and cannabis; braised pork spareribs with a shitake mushroom and cannabis soup; stir fried beef with cannabis and grilled river prawns with a spicy lime cannabis sauce.

The new menu also offers cannabis-based drinks such as the H.I.D. (Hemp in Distiller) with fresh cannabis leaves, monsoon jasmine tea, pandan leaf, dry orange and chamomile tea and the Cannabis Fizzy, which includes soda, apple nectar, pineapple juice, lime juice, cannabis syrup and topped with cannabis leaf.

The Thai Government recently decriminalised most parts of the marijuana plant and although the THC rich flowers, buds and seeds remain off-limits, other parts of the plant such as the leaves have been removed from the prohibited list and have ended up on the fine dining menu due to their dietary and nutritional benefits.  When the leaves of the cannabis plant are fresh and raw, cannabinoids in the cannabis plant are found in their acid form rather than their active form, meaning guests will not feel dazed from eating or drinking raw cannabis leaves.
