Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana Wellness Resort & Spa, near Trieste, is now open

Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana Wellness Resort & Spa is now open
for the season featuring two new partnerships:
Purobeach Portopiccolo and Terme di Saturnia

Tivoli Hotels & Resorts announces the launch of Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana Wellness Resort & Spa in the Gulf of Trieste, in northern Italy.  The resort, situated on the unspoilt coast of the Northern Adriatic, has launched a new beach club, Purobeach Portopiccolo and a new spa partnership with Terme di Saturnia, a well-known Italian wellness brand that will be operating the spa.

Located in the Duino Cliffs Nature Reserve, the property is set in the car-free development of Portopiccolo, with its private beach, several restaurants and bars, shops, and a luxury marina.

The resort is within 20 minutes’ drive of Trieste Airport and just one-hour from the airports of Venice, Treviso or Ljubljana.  Guests can explore the nearby city of Trieste and attractions including the Castle of Duino and Miramare Castle.  In addition, the countries of Slovenia and Croatia are both easily accessible from the resort.

The property offers 58 luxuriously furnished guest rooms including 20 suites, with an elegant design and views of the marina and the sea, together with 30 branded apartments. The leisure facilities are impressive with six swimming pools, including one just for adults in the Purobeach Portopiccolo area and a green beach, with family friendly pool and lawns to play on.

Bringing the brand’s chic Mediterranean chilled out vibes to Italy for the first time, the new Purobeach Portopiccolo club offers a range of different areas: one by the harbour pool near the restaurant and bar with sun beds and the sounds of Puro DJ sets; two terraces, dotted with infinity pools, soft white sun beds and a chiringuito or small beach bar, for snacks and cocktails; a white pebble beach with docks jutting over the water; and the green beach area that is perfect for families, with its pool and beachfront loungers.

The beach club restaurant offers a menu inspired by 3M (Melbourne, Marrakech and Miami) featuring salmon poke, nachos with guacamole and the Puro club sandwich, together with local flavours like pastas, risotto, fresh fish and seafood. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

Located in the main hotel building with a terrace overlooking the marina, Ocyan restaurant offers gourmet Mediterranean cuisine, featuring fresh fish and seasonal local ingredients. Signature dishes include smoked spaghetti with clams from the Gulf of Trieste, Cabras bottarga and marjoram; Tortelli with Trieste-style goulash, Montasio soubise sauce and brown reduction; and the Adriatic red mullet, smoked provola, escarole and romesco sauce. A tasting menu of 3, 4 or 5 courses is also available, together with exclusive wine pairing.

The Azur Lounge Bar serves snacks and light lunches such as salads and sandwiches, ceviche, steak tartare, pasta and local fish. The bar’s terrace is perfect for aperitifs at sunset with panoramic views over the marina and the sea.

Launching later in the year, an impressive 3,600 sqm spa area will be operated by Terme di Saturnia bringing their knowledge and specific thermal approach from Maremma in Tuscany to wellbeing and longevity to Tivoli Portopiccolo. The facilities include eight spacious treatment rooms, including a panoramic couple’s spa suite, a large indoor/outdoor vitality pool with sea views, saunas and steam rooms. Inside the main hotel building there is a wellness and fitness centre, with sauna, steam room and a fully equipped gymnasium.
