Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti Introduces Guided Mountain Activities for the New Season

Luxury eco spa resort, Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti, located in the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Italian Dolomites, has reopened after its annual closure with a spa menu that incorporates more of the great outdoors.  The new spa menu includes a 3 day Yin-Yang Active and Balance Programme combining morning mountain activities with spa treatments each afternoon, to provide a holistic indoor-outdoor rebalancing spa experience.  For all guests, a new menu of complimentary guided group activities are now offered including hikes, e-bikes and foraging in the Adamello Brenta National Park, a protected area of valleys, lakes, forests and glaciers.

Yin-Yang Active and Balance Programme

Yin-Yang Active and Balance is a three night programme blending the therapeutic power of alpine nature in the Dolomites with two movements from Classical Chinese Medicine.  Created by the Lefay Scientific Committee, the programme uses the natural landscape around the resort as an outdoor spa to enhance physical and mental wellbeing. Guests sample different activities each morning in the clear mountain air with trained mountain guides, followed by spa treatments and energy rebalancing activities each afternoon.

Morning mountain activities include a guided hike to an old hermit’s cabin and a walk along the river valley with Kneipp Therapy and the chance to cold water swim. Afternoon treatments include energy massages, a mud body scrub and therapeutic sessions, such as sauna stretching and flotation in the ’salt lake’ to complement the morning activity.  The programme is designed to detoxify and rebalance the energy flow, aid anxiety and re-establish vital functions within the body.

The 3-day Yin-Yang Active & Balance Programme costs Euros 1,650 including accommodation, all meals and treatments (excluding flights and transfers).

Complimentary Mountain Activities

All guests at Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti are now invited to select two complimentary outdoor activities each day.  Led by local mountain experts, the activities include a three-hour morning walk in the Val di Genova taking in the church of San Vigilio, a dense wooded area of centuries-old chestnut trees, meadows, the “Marmitte dei Giganti” glacial canyons and finishing at the Nardis waterfalls, which drop from a height of over 130 metres.

Alternatively, there is a three-hour trail up to the San Martino Hermitage, which is perched on the edge of a mountain side at an altitude of 1,226 metres. The hermitage is a restored 17th century chapel, which, according to popular legend, was inhabited by one of the last hermits who was protected by a tame bear.

The resort’s complimentary guided e-bike tours include a three-hour ride of medium difficulty through some of the most beautiful valleys in the Adamello Brenta Nature Park between the Adamello-Presanella glaciers and the sharp spires of the Brenta Dolomites, stopping in the ancient towns of Caderzone and Spiazzo and visiting the Alpine Hut Museum and the Adamelina War Museum.

Other biking trails include an easy three-hour ride along the Via Vecchia – a cycling route that connects Pinzolo to Madonna di Campiglio and then on through the dense green woods to the Vallesinella Falls – one of the most famous in Trentino.

For foodies there is a complimentary three hour foraging tour every Sunday morning in the alpine meadows, where guests can learn to identify and gather edible mushrooms, berries, wild herbs and berries.   Lefay’s guests can also walk into Pinzolo village for a tasting of local Trento delicacies every Wednesday morning at Alimentari Caola, the traditional delicatessen owned by the Caola family for over 100 years. Here they can sample local wine, cheese and cold meats.

Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti has a 5,000 sqm of Lefay SPA – one of the largest spas in the entire Alpine region – with pools, saunas and steam rooms and Lefay’s award winning wellness method combining Classical Chinese Medicine with modern Western techniques. The signature energy treatments aim to rebalance and rejuvenate the body and mind by stimulating the Classical Chinese meridians to activate the energy systems ensuring that the treatment is deep and long lasting. The tension-relieving massage is recommended for post hiking and biking as the stimulation of the energy points has a specific effect on contracted muscles.

Prices at Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti start from Euros 425 per night (based on two sharing) with breakfast.
