The award-winning luxury eco spa resort, Lefay Resort & SPA overlooking Lake Garda in Italy has reopened with the introduction of ‘Nourishing Life’ Prevention – a series of recommendations for guests wishing to increase and strengthen their immune system, based on the principles of Classical Chinese Medicine and integrated with the holistic wellness offered at Lefay.
Dr Carlo Barbieri, President of the Lefay SPA Method Scientific Committee explains: “’Lefay SPA ‘Nourishing Life’ Prevention recommends treatments, activities and nutrition for Lefay guests to promote a healthy grounding of mind and body, helping to defend against viral infections with a more effective immune system and maintaining a healthy condition to always feel at their best.”
Nourishing Life Prevention recommendations include:
The new “Nutrire La Vita” massage – This new treatment starts with 10 minutes of moxibustion focusing on the spleen and pancreas, which provide the body with the ‘fuel’ for optimal functionality. This stimulation of specific energy points that contribute to the strengthening of the immune system is followed by 30 minutes of massage to completely rebalance the body. The massage costs 90 Euros.
Psychosomatic and Psychotherapeutic Consultations – The stress of recent months has had a significant influence on the mind and to address this, Lefay is offering two types of consultation to enable guests to better manage the challenges we now face. The Psychosomatic Consultation helps us logically look at what we are going through and the Psychotherapeutic Consultation will allow guests to share personal physical and psychological conditions that have manifested themselves through dreams, personality traits and biographical episodes. The consultations can be combined with a calming, rebalancing outdoor activity and stress-relieving massages to reduce the physical and mental symptoms related to anxiety and restlessness. Prices start from 100 Euros for a 50- minute psychotherapeutic consultation.
The White Tiger Path – Outdoor rebalancing activities with therapists specialised in different holistic disciplines are recommended and include Zen meditation, Qi Gong, Tai Chi and Perception Walking. The White Tiger Path combines movement and meditation activities including yoga and stress-relieving breathing sessions, a guided walk through the Energy Therapeutic Garden and a full body massage working on energy points to overcome melancholy. The White Tiger Path costs 320 Euros.
Nutrition – Guest are encouraged to follow the Lefay SPA menu designed to detoxify and put minimal strain on the digestive system. The diet nourishes the intestinal microbiota, which is essential to have good immune defences. This healthy menu limits sugars and saturated fats and avoids processed and packaged products by selecting seasonal fruit and vegetables, spices and herbs with vitamins and antioxidants. Phytotherapy, which is the science of using plants for preventative purposes in medicinal teas, plays an important part in the Lefay SPA Method and teas made from South African geranium and Elderberry are particularly recommended for their antiviral effectiveness.
‘Nourishing Life’ Prevention according to Lefay Spa forms part of the Lefay Care Protocol drawn up by the Lefay SPA Scientific Committee, following the guidelines by the World Health Organisation and national and local authorities to provide a safe wellness holiday for guests.
A stay Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda costs 260 Euros per room per night including breakfast and access to Lefay SPA World facilities.

Lefay Resorts was, in 2006, the vision of Domenico Alcide and Liliana Leali, founders of Air Dolomiti regional airline, which was sold to Lufthansa in March 2003. The new group was founded with the aim of becoming the Italian reference brand for luxury wellness holidays in the international market through the creation of a collection of Italian style eco-resorts. The multi-award winning Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda has been leading the way in sustainable tourism in the luxury arena in Italy.
With the launch of Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti in August last year, the brand confirmed its expansion strategy, which envisages, on the one hand, the completion of the hospitality properties portfolio in Italy (the third is already planned for Tuscany) and, on the other, the expansion into Central Europe in cooperation with selected partners who share the same values, through management or lease contracts
